Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Bank VTB PAO (MCX:VTBR), which unchanged 4.25% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.02 at the close. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) unchanged 2.84% or 0.00 points to end at 0.11 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 2.69% or 5.93 points to 226.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:CBOM), which lost 1.32% or 0.10 points to trade at 7.64 in late trade. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 0.84% or 0.53 points to end at 62.79 and Rostelekom PAO (MCX:RTKM) shed 0.33% or 0.31 points to 93.14.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 124 to 64 and 12 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was unchanged 0.00% to 25.74 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.55% or 12.80 to $2,331.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.04% or 0.85 to hit $80.78 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $84.19 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.84% to 87.51, while EUR/RUB fell 0.85% to 93.75.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 105.28.
