Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Power, Manufacturing and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were VK Company Ltd DRC (MCX:VKCO), which rose 4.02% or 17.60 points to trade at 455.80 at the close. Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:CBOM) added 1.94% or 0.13 points to end at 6.83 and ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) was up 1.71% or 1.01 points to 60.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included HeadHunter Group PLC (MCX:HHRUDR), which lost 3.18% or 125.00 points to trade at 3,802.00 in late trade. PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) declined 1.14% or 63.00 points to end at 5,442.00 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) shed 0.48% or 0.25 points to 52.13.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 171 to 69 and 14 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.97% to 31.11.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.50% or 12.30 to $2,432.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $72.96 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.12 to trade at $76.22 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 85.66, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 93.65.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 102.69.
