Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia gained 0.14% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which rose 2.83% or 16.60 points to trade at 603.50 at the close. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) added 2.56% or 15.00 points to end at 601.80 and NK Lukoil PAO (MCX:LKOH) was up 2.56% or 157.50 points to 6,305.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included VK Company Ltd DRC (MCX:VKCO), which lost 3.59% or 14.20 points to trade at 381.20 in late trade. Mobil’nye Telesistemy PAO (MCX:MTSS) declined 2.66% or 5.65 points to end at 207.15 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) shed 2.22% or 1.09 points to 48.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 149 to 94 and 8 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.49% to 32.70.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.35 to $2,550.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.68% or 1.23 to hit $71.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $76.09 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 91.50, while EUR/RUB rose 0.03% to 102.05.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 101.04.
