Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which rose 5.00% or 3.770 points to trade at 79.170 at the close. Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 4.53% or 21.35 points to end at 492.35 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was up 4.44% or 6.10 points to 143.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which lost 2.50% or 169.0 points to trade at 6599.0 in late trade. Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) declined 2.38% or 1.65 points to end at 67.60 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) shed 2.08% or 7.90 points to 372.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 110 to 108 and 26 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.40% to 19.680.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.53% or 6.79 to $1282.09 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.44% or 0.25 to hit $56.67 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.09 to trade at $62.31 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.34% to 59.1459, while EUR/RUB fell 0.27% to 69.4264.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.91.
