Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.26% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which rose 3.54% or 0.2800 points to trade at 8.2000 at the close. MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG) added 3.50% or 0.1030 points to end at 3.0495 and Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) was up 3.33% or 9.20 points to 285.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unipro (MCX:UPRO), which lost 2.24% or 0.0560 points to trade at 2.4420 in late trade. AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) declined 2.17% or 0.305 points to end at 13.745 and Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) shed 2.02% or 0.0795 points to 3.8605.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 120 to 108 and 15 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.32% to 18.680.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.07% or 14.18 to $1311.02 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.50% or 0.25 to hit $50.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.26 to trade at $55.36 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.72% to 58.0493, while EUR/RUB rose 0.54% to 69.2390.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 91.91.
