Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 1.43% or 0.0020 points to trade at 0.1420 at the close. Montepio (LS:MPIO) added 0.52% or 0.003 points to end at 0.580 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 0.21% or 0.0300 points to 14.2900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 3.01% or 0.0012 points to trade at 0.0387 in late trade. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) declined 1.86% or 0.116 points to end at 6.124 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) shed 1.72% or 0.2100 points to 11.9950.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 32 to 13 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.98% or 0.47 to $47.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.50% or 0.23 to hit $45.80 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 2.17% or 27.45 to trade at $1293.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.77% to 1.1439, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.7823.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.63% at 93.14.
