Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 1.83% or 0.1100 points to trade at 6.1100 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.55% or 0.0490 points to end at 3.2200 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 1.03% or 0.0270 points to 2.6420 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which lost 1.65% or 0.2100 points to trade at 12.5400 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 1.59% or 0.2530 points to end at 15.6870 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 1.23% or 0.0090 points to 0.7210.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 20 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.32% or 0.67 to $50.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.08% or 0.54 to hit $49.42 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.42% or 5.35 to trade at $1268.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.0919, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8928.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 98.55.
