Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.60% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Nos SGPS SA (ELI:NOS), which rose 0.74% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.39 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 0.28% or 0.03 points to end at 10.67 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was up 0.27% or 0.02 points to 7.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which lost 1.29% or 0.20 points to trade at 15.30 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) declined 1.02% or 0.05 points to end at 4.38 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) shed 0.92% or 0.03 points to 3.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 12 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.42% or 0.30 to $72.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.38% or 0.26 to hit $68.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 15.90 to trade at $2,590.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 106.31.
