Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.45% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT), which rose 3.10% or 0.25 points to trade at 8.31 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 1.90% or 0.31 points to end at 16.62 and Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) was up 1.69% or 0.12 points to 7.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS), which lost 1.86% or 0.09 points to trade at 4.96 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) declined 1.81% or 0.01 points to end at 0.42 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) shed 1.74% or 0.26 points to 14.66.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.03% or 0.77 to $74.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.14% or 0.81 to hit $69.96 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.47% or 12.75 to trade at $2,742.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 104.05.
