Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 0.94% or 0.04 points to trade at 4.30 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 0.90% or 0.18 points to end at 20.18 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) was up 0.50% or 0.10 points to 19.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which lost 2.52% or 0.38 points to trade at 14.67 in late trade. Semapa (ELI:SEM) declined 1.83% or 0.28 points to end at 15.02 and The Navigator Company SA (ELI:NVGR) shed 0.90% or 0.04 points to 3.94.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 14 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was up 1.95% or 1.53 to $79.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.12% or 1.57 to hit $75.64 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 16.60 to trade at $2,392.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 104.21.
