Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 1.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Semapa (LISBON:SEM), which rose 0.12% or 0.0150 points to trade at 12.0300 at the close. REN (LISBON:RENE) fell 0.07% or 0.0020 points to end at 2.7250 and Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) was down 0.41% or 0.0155 points to 3.7435 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which lost 5.59% or 0.1525 points to trade at 2.5775 in late trade. Teixeira Duarte (LISBON:TDSA) declined 5.07% or 0.0290 points to end at 0.5430 and Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) shed 3.15% or 0.3300 points to 10.1300.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 58 to 12 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.68% or 0.92 to $53.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.29% or 0.62 to hit $47.52 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.00% or 10.90 to trade at $1096.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.24% to 1.1120, while EUR/GBP rose 0.90% to 0.7140.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.91% at 96.46.
