Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.44% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 1.42% or 0.2250 points to trade at 16.0750 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 0.58% or 0.0330 points to end at 5.6800 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 0.43% or 0.050 points to 11.785 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 5.84% or 0.2210 points to trade at 3.5610 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 4.58% or 0.1420 points to end at 2.9560 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 3.87% or 0.0170 points to 0.4220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 29 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 1.63% or 0.99 to $61.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.34% or 0.73 to hit $55.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.71% or 9.08 to trade at $1269.02 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1602, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8884.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 94.91.
