Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were REN (LS:RENE), which rose 1.42% or 0.0340 points to trade at 2.4340 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 0.87% or 0.0250 points to end at 2.9000 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 0.77% or 0.0070 points to 0.9130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 3.86% or 0.1160 points to trade at 2.8900 in late trade. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 2.71% or 0.3350 points to end at 12.0350 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 2.43% or 0.0250 points to 1.0050.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 25 to 8 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 1.77% or 1.40 to $77.83 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $74.14 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.88% or 11.00 to trade at $1243.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.65% to 1.1608, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8841.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 94.78.
