Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Technology and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 11.17% or 0.1820 points to trade at 1.8120 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.31% or 0.0440 points to end at 3.4000 and Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) was up 0.54% or 0.0045 points to 0.8450 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which lost 2.68% or 0.1800 points to trade at 6.5300 in late trade. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 2.59% or 0.0960 points to end at 3.6040 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 2.53% or 0.3600 points to 13.8600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 13 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 1.67% or 1.01 to $59.55 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.94% or 1.00 to hit $50.63 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.78% or 9.60 to trade at $1219.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.1290, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 97.325.
