Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 1.56% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.3250 at the close. Sonae (LS:YSO) added 0.51% or 0.0050 points to end at 0.9800 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was up 0.30% or 0.003 points to 1.003 in late trade.
Biggest losers included J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which lost 1.45% or 0.2450 points to trade at 16.6600 in late trade. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 1.18% or 0.0430 points to end at 3.6090 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 1.12% or 0.0270 points to 2.3830.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 0.22% or 0.11 to $50.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.29% or 0.14 to hit $47.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.87% or 11.22 to trade at $1279.18 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.1736, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.9123.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 93.72.
