Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 2.48% or 0.1600 points to trade at 6.6100 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 2.42% or 0.0058 points to end at 0.2455 and Ramada Investimentos e Industria SA (LS:RAMA) was up 1.29% or 0.100 points to 7.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 2.80% or 0.240 points to trade at 8.340 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 2.34% or 0.3400 points to end at 14.1950 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) shed 1.73% or 0.0032 points to 0.1818.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 15 and 1 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 0.08% or 0.05 to $60.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.58% or 0.30 to hit $51.81 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.42% or 5.45 to trade at $1293.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1399, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8868.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.688.
