Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which rose 2.04% or 0.0048 points to trade at 0.2405 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) added 1.81% or 0.2400 points to end at 13.4950 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 1.31% or 0.0040 points to 0.3090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 2.00% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.8830 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 1.75% or 0.0170 points to end at 0.9570 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) shed 0.98% or 0.0520 points to 5.2620.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 20 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.39% or 0.68 to $49.45 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.65% or 0.76 to hit $46.80 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.50% or 18.67 to trade at $1223.63 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1358, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8768.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 95.96.
