Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 2.99% or 0.3450 points to trade at 11.8900 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 2.12% or 0.3100 points to end at 14.9400 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 1.46% or 0.098 points to 6.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which lost 7.64% or 0.0910 points to trade at 1.1000 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 7.17% or 0.2610 points to end at 3.3790 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) shed 3.68% or 0.0013 points to 0.0340.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 24 to 20 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for June delivery was up 2.33% or 1.00 to $43.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.79% or 1.15 to hit $42.34 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.68% or 20.80 to trade at $1255.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1369, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.7907.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.46% at 94.02.
