Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA), which rose 3.01% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.85 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) added 2.60% or 0.3225 points to end at 12.7075 and Sonae (LISBON:YSO) was up 2.19% or 0.0265 points to 1.2385 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which lost 2.78% or 0.0002 points to trade at 0.0070 in late trade. Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA) declined 2.49% or 0.0665 points to end at 2.6065 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) shed 2.14% or 0.0019 points to 0.0870.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 34 to 33 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $62.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.18% or 0.68 to hit $56.83 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1187.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0917, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.7141.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 97.37.
