Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which rose 2.34% or 0.10 points to trade at 4.38 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 2.24% or 0.40 points to end at 18.27 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI:ALSS) was up 1.73% or 0.09 points to 5.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (ELI:SEM), which lost 2.30% or 0.34 points to trade at 14.42 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) unchanged 0.06% or 0.00 points to end at 0.46 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 2.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 6 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.95% or 0.69 to $73.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.98% or 0.68 to hit $69.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 2.40 to trade at $2,751.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.30% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP fell 0.71% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 104.09.
