Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which rose 3.25% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.41 at the close. Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) added 3.07% or 0.52 points to end at 17.45 and Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) was up 0.74% or 0.01 points to 0.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which lost 1.05% or 0.04 points to trade at 3.86 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 0.89% or 0.13 points to end at 14.42 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) shed 0.72% or 0.02 points to 2.48.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was up 3.06% or 2.39 to $80.44 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.21% or 2.39 to hit $76.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 3.20 to trade at $2,664.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 102.22.
