Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.68% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which rose 1.75% or 0.29 points to trade at 16.84 at the close. Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) added 1.54% or 0.04 points to end at 2.51 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 1.25% or 0.18 points to 14.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT), which lost 0.44% or 0.02 points to trade at 4.51 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.41% or 0.07 points to end at 17.10 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) shed 0.22% or 0.02 points to 8.92.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 5 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 0.43% or 0.31 to $72.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.48% or 0.33 to hit $69.30 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.23% or 31.80 to trade at $2,612.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 101.06.
