Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI gained 0.65% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 2.53% or 0.35 points to trade at 14.21 at the close. Sonae SGPS SA (ELI:YSO) added 1.40% or 0.01 points to end at 0.94 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP) was up 1.36% or 0.05 points to 3.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT), which lost 1.12% or 0.10 points to trade at 8.40 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (ELI:IBS) declined 0.55% or 0.04 points to end at 7.20 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) shed 0.42% or 0.01 points to 2.37.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.99% or 0.80 to $81.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.99% or 0.76 to hit $77.72 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.63% or 15.25 to trade at $2,422.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 103.96.
