Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA), which rose 3.61% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.64 at the close. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) added 2.31% or 0.25 points to end at 11.08 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI:CTT) was up 1.96% or 0.09 points to 4.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT), which lost 0.86% or 0.16 points to trade at 18.52 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.38% or 0.06 points to end at 15.73 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) shed 0.28% or 0.04 points to 14.08.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was down 2.68% or 1.98 to $71.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.00% or 2.11 to hit $68.27 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 2.76% or 74.40 to trade at $2,620.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 105.43.
