Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Semapa (ELI:SEM), which rose 2.07% or 0.30 points to trade at 14.76 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) added 1.94% or 0.01 points to end at 0.42 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI:MOTA) was up 0.96% or 0.02 points to 2.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which lost 0.49% or 0.02 points to trade at 4.08 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 0.47% or 0.08 points to end at 16.95 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) shed 0.20% or 0.01 points to 2.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 8 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.39% or 1.01 to $73.76 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.67% or 1.15 to hit $70.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.74% or 19.30 to trade at $2,589.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 100.61.
