Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI were Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP), which rose 1.60% or 0.30 points to trade at 19.09 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP) added 1.50% or 0.01 points to end at 0.39 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI:JMT) was up 1.35% or 0.22 points to 16.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI:EDP), which lost 0.83% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.68 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR) declined 0.64% or 0.09 points to end at 14.07 and Greenvolt Energias Renovaveis SA (ELI:GVOLT) shed 0.60% or 0.05 points to 8.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.82% or 1.45 to $81.21 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.77% or 1.36 to hit $78.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.66% or 16.25 to trade at $2,495.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.50% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 102.72.
