Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.79% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA), which rose 12.78% or 0.409 points to trade at 3.609 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) added 2.59% or 0.4000 points to end at 15.8400 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 2.57% or 0.0090 points to 0.3590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS), which lost 1.15% or 0.150 points to trade at 12.950 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 0.46% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.8710 and EDP (LS:EDP) shed 0.44% or 0.0140 points to 3.1890.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for December delivery was down 1.39% or 0.80 to $56.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.48% or 0.77 to hit $51.37 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.70 to trade at $1289.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1782, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8765.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 93.02.
