Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 3.58% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.3180 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 1.81% or 0.0038 points to end at 0.2138 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) was up 1.69% or 0.0130 points to 0.7820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which lost 1.12% or 0.1600 points to trade at 14.1000 in late trade. REN (LS:RENE) declined 0.93% or 0.0260 points to end at 2.7600 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 0.17% or 0.0250 points to 15.0900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 25 to 8 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.18% or 0.64 to $54.91 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.58% or 0.76 to hit $48.99 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 5.73 to trade at $1326.97 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.68% to 1.1885, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8999.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 92.45.
