Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.60% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 1.92% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.2120 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.78% or 0.0680 points to end at 3.8810 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 1.30% or 0.0720 points to 5.6150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 2.27% or 0.0247 points to trade at 1.0653 in late trade. Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) declined 0.25% or 0.0350 points to end at 14.1600 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) shed 0.24% or 0.001 points to 0.420.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 16 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.43% or 0.80 to $56.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.57% or 0.83 to hit $53.85 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.39% or 4.45 to trade at $1138.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.02% to 1.0456, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8528.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 103.02.
