Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO), which rose 2.60% or 0.0250 points to trade at 0.9880 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 2.50% or 0.0820 points to end at 3.3660 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 2.31% or 0.0650 points to 2.8750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 1.16% or 0.0025 points to trade at 0.2130 in late trade. EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) declined 1.14% or 0.1000 points to end at 8.7000 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) shed 1.10% or 0.120 points to 10.780.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 19 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 0.55% or 0.40 to $72.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.98% or 0.64 to hit $66.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 1.90 to trade at $1196.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1536, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8965.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 95.37.
