Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 1.78% or 0.0032 points to trade at 0.1832 at the close. REN (LS:RENE) added 1.71% or 0.0440 points to end at 2.6200 and EDP (LS:EDP) was up 1.55% or 0.0480 points to 3.1360 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which lost 2.66% or 0.0520 points to trade at 1.9000 in late trade. Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO) declined 1.83% or 0.0170 points to end at 0.9125 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 0.91% or 0.0080 points to 0.8710.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 12 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for April delivery was up 2.88% or 1.72 to $61.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 3.00% or 1.56 to hit $53.55 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 4.80 to trade at $1307.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1423, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8701.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.525.
