Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 2.06% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.8910 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) added 1.90% or 0.0048 points to end at 0.2568 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.70% or 0.1400 points to 8.3700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae SGPS SA (LS:YSO), which lost 2.63% or 0.0260 points to trade at 0.9620 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 2.05% or 0.3800 points to end at 18.1400 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) shed 1.00% or 0.100 points to 9.880.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 13 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 2.81% or 2.04 to $74.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.16% or 2.08 to hit $67.92 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.50 to trade at $1202.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1591, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8977.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.05.
