Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 0.97% or 0.1550 points to trade at 16.1200 at the close. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 0.96% or 0.0080 points to end at 0.8400 and EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) was up 0.86% or 0.0590 points to 6.9300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which lost 1.70% or 0.0540 points to trade at 3.1300 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.03% or 0.0360 points to end at 3.4480 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 0.84% or 0.0210 points to 2.4890.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 15 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.13% or 0.08 to $63.40 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.74% or 0.43 to hit $58.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.86 to trade at $1291.34 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.26% to 1.1852, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8911.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 93.05.
