Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT), which rose 3.18% or 0.0980 points to trade at 3.1800 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 1.23% or 0.1600 points to end at 13.1250 and Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) was up 1.05% or 0.100 points to 9.620 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semapa (LS:SEM), which lost 1.23% or 0.2500 points to trade at 20.1500 in late trade. EDP (LS:EDP) declined 0.92% or 0.0320 points to end at 3.4620 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 0.71% or 0.0200 points to 2.8000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 14 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 3.80% or 2.84 to $71.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.98% or 2.75 to hit $66.42 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1217.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1593, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.9003.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.07.
