Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Basic Materials and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 2.14% or 1.52 points to trade at 72.60 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 1.54% or 0.30 points to end at 19.80 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.09% or 1.10 points to 102.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 8.24% or 2.88 points to trade at 32.06 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 7.53% or 5.56 points to end at 68.24 and mBank (WA:MBK) shed 5.84% or 24.40 points to 393.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 307 to 166 and 187 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.78% or 0.53 to $67.24 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.35% or 0.27 to hit $76.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.25% or 3.00 to trade at $1201.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.31% to 4.3123, while USD/PLN rose 0.16% to 3.7275.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 95.31.
