Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Energy and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 2.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 7.82% or 5.63 points to trade at 77.63 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 7.29% or 0.71 points to end at 10.45 and Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW) was up 5.11% or 3.63 points to 74.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 2.01% or 1.01 points to trade at 49.20 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 1.96% or 3.45 points to end at 172.50 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 1.33% or 0.82 points to 60.66.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 287 to 232 and 162 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.66% or 0.33 to $50.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.05% or 0.53 to hit $51.08 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.22% or 2.80 to trade at $1244.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.23% to 4.3474, while USD/PLN fell 0.21% to 3.8295.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 93.89.
