Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Information Technology and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 5.02% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.300 at the close. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) added 4.25% or 0.39 points to end at 9.56 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 3.30% or 0.30 points to 9.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which lost 1.17% or 0.60 points to trade at 50.80 in late trade. Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) declined 1.00% or 0.21 points to end at 20.80 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) shed 0.39% or 0.80 points to 202.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 262 to 206 and 170 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.54% or 0.79 to $51.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.00% or 0.60 to hit $60.75 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.60 to trade at $1247.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.15% to 4.2981, while USD/PLN rose 0.21% to 3.7830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 97.097.
