Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Energy and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Kruk SA (WA:KRU), which rose 19.78% or 36.00 points to trade at 218.00 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 5.27% or 3.90 points to end at 77.94 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 3.81% or 1.68 points to 45.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which lost 1.86% or 1.30 points to trade at 68.60 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 1.16% or 0.55 points to end at 46.70 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) shed 1.08% or 0.05 points to 4.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 223 to 214 and 168 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.11% or 0.08 to $73.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.77% or 0.60 to hit $78.67 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1256.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.08% to 4.3178, while USD/PLN rose 0.27% to 3.6810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 93.97.
