Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemicals, Media and Developers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 6.39% or 2.75 points to trade at 45.80 at the close. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) added 3.92% or 0.23 points to end at 6.10 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 3.81% or 1.18 points to 32.16 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which lost 2.18% or 2.29 points to trade at 102.62 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.11% or 1.00 points to end at 46.50 and Play Communications SA (WA:PLY) shed 0.77% or 0.16 points to 20.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 238 to 188 and 197 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.34% or 1.65 to $68.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.67% or 1.33 to hit $78.41 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.31% or 3.70 to trade at $1207.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.07% to 4.3051, while USD/PLN fell 0.47% to 3.6881.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.63.
