Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Energy and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which rose 3.12% or 0.32 points to trade at 10.59 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.36% or 0.41 points to end at 17.78 and Grupa KĘTY SA (WA:KTY) was up 2.24% or 17.00 points to 776.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Text SA (WA:TXTP), which lost 2.01% or 1.60 points to trade at 77.90 in late trade. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 1.85% or 1.70 points to end at 90.30 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) shed 1.46% or 0.69 points to 46.64.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 279 to 206 and 124 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.60% or 1.97 to $73.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 2.09% or 1.65 to hit $77.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.85% or 21.65 to trade at $2,538.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was unchanged 0.03% to 4.28, while USD/PLN rose 0.14% to 3.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 101.56.
