Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 1.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 7.66% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.295 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 6.37% or 0.960 points to end at 16.030 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was up 5.77% or 2.78 points to 51.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which lost 11.86% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.05 in late trade. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) declined 1.60% or 0.030 points to end at 1.850 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) shed 1.13% or 0.240 points to 21.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 23 to 7 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.58% or 1.53 to $60.72 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.61% or 1.64 to hit $64.36 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.74% or 23.20 to trade at $1353.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.27% to 3.2660, while EUR/PEN rose 0.21% to 4.0480.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 88.91.
