Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Agriculture sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.77% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which rose 25.00% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.0650 at the close. Atacocha (LM:ATB) added 9.84% or 0.030 points to end at 0.335 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 2.77% or 5.40 points to 200.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minera Irl (LM:IRL), which unchanged 5.71% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.07 in late trade. Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa) declined 4.44% or 0.080 points to end at 1.720 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) shed 2.73% or 0.060 points to 2.140.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 13 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.06% or 0.52 to $49.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $52.77 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.66% or 20.96 to trade at $1283.56 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2485, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8152.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 93.41.
