Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Electricity and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which rose 5.13% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.820 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) added 3.42% or 0.140 points to end at 4.240 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) was up 2.50% or 0.010 points to 0.410 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which lost 5.70% or 1.300 points to trade at 21.500 in late trade. Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) declined 5.00% or 0.006 points to end at 0.114 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) shed 3.28% or 0.020 points to 0.590.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 12 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.01 to $70.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $74.43 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.30 to trade at $1247.70 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.08% to 3.2705, while EUR/PEN fell 0.32% to 3.8241.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 94.57.
