Investing.com – Sweden equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 rose 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Swedish Match AB (ST:SWMA), which rose 2.53% or 6.0 points to trade at 243.0 at the close. Securitas AB ser. B (ST:SECUb) added 2.13% or 2.40 points to end at 115.30 and Atlas Copco AB ser. B (ST:ATCOb) was up 1.55% or 3.1 points to 203.2 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN), which lost 1.36% or 7.5 points to trade at 544.5 in late trade. Hennes & Mauritz AB, H & M ser. B (ST:HMb) declined 0.38% or 1.2 points to end at 315.7 and Volvo, AB ser. B (ST:VOLVb) shed 0.30% or 0.30 points to 100.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 226 to 206 and 5 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.27% or 1.19 to $51.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.98% or 0.56 to hit $56.30 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.74% or 8.50 to trade at $1161.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.03% to 9.3756, while USD/SEK fell 0.55% to 8.4644.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.56% at 96.34.
