Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences, Energy and Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX rose 1.79%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Aker BP ASA (OL:AKERBP), which rose 4.94% or 11.20 points to trade at 237.80 at the close. Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT) added 3.85% or 2.10 points to end at 56.60 and DNO International ASA (OL:DNO) was up 3.64% or 0.49 points to 13.79 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aker Solutions OL (OL:AKSOL), which lost 1.19% or 0.55 points to trade at 45.86 in late trade. Aker ASA (OL:AKER) added 0.71% or 3.5 points to end at 498.5 and DnB ASA (OL:DNB) gained 0.72% or 1.1 points to 146.7.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 129 to 58 and 18 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 4.14% or 2.21 to $55.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.89% or 1.81 to hit $64.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.39% or 4.80 to trade at $1226.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.42% to 9.7102, while USD/NOK fell 0.63% to 8.5317.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 96.657.
