Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 0.29% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO), which rose 10.20% or 5.08 points to trade at 50.00 at the close. Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) added 2.51% or 19.96 points to end at 800.00 and Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 17.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 315.88 in late trade. Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) declined 3.96% or 0.93 points to end at 22.57 and Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) shed 3.39% or 0.02 points to 0.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 7 and 62 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.52% or 0.68 to $43.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.88% or 0.87 to hit $45.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.12% or 1.55 to trade at $1304.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was up 0.10% to 352.530, while USD/NGN rose 0.16% to 317.000.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 97.06.
