Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Insurance and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 fell 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG), which rose 4.76% or 1.00 points to trade at 22.00 at the close. Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC) added 2.17% or 1.00 points to end at 47.00 and Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) was up 1.48% or 0.35 points to 24.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which lost 8.89% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.230 in late trade. Fbn Holdings (LAGOS:FBNH) declined 5.15% or 0.700 points to end at 12.900 and Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) shed 4.90% or 0.070 points to 1.360.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 23 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.42% or 0.27 to $63.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.71% or 0.48 to hit $67.14 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 5.00 to trade at $1331.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.60% to 446.040, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 360.500.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 89.44.
