Investing.com – Nigeria equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 declined 0.24% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which rose 9.43% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.580 at the close. Diamond Bank (LAGOS:DIAMONB) added 8.13% or 0.100 points to end at 1.330 and Dangsugar (LAGOS:DANGSUG) was up 5.96% or 0.90 points to 15.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which lost 10.00% or 150.00 points to trade at 1350.00 in late trade. Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN) declined 9.52% or 0.060 points to end at 0.610 and Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN) shed 9.40% or 0.55 points to 5.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 45 to 31 and 19 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.53% or 0.36 to $67.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.16% or 0.12 to hit $76.38 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.37% or 4.40 to trade at $1199.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.02% to 417.950, while USD/NGN rose 0.09% to 359.800.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 95.41.
