Investing.com – Nigeria equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 added 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the NSE 30 were Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT), which rose 3.70% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.680 at the close. Pz Cussons LG (LAGOS:PZ) added 2.61% or 0.60 points to end at 23.60 and Guaranty Bnk (LAGOS:GUARANT) was up 1.18% or 0.50 points to 43.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE), which lost 3.10% or 39.99 points to trade at 1250.01 in late trade. Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) declined 2.82% or 1.45 points to end at 50.00 and Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE) shed 2.17% or 0.87 points to 39.13.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 35 to 32 and 22 ended unchanged on the Lagos.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.89% or 0.51 to $56.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.66% or 0.42 to hit $63.51 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.85% or 11.00 to trade at $1276.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.00% to 419.020, while USD/NGN rose 0.14% to 356.000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.32.
