Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Services, Property and Mining & Oil sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV), which rose 1.54% or 1.150 points to trade at 75.950 at the close. Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) added 1.35% or 3.00 points to end at 225.00 and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT) was up 0.99% or 0.85 points to 87.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PLDT Inc (PS:TEL), which lost 3.71% or 63.00 points to trade at 1637.00 in late trade. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 2.83% or 0.140 points to end at 4.800 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) shed 2.76% or 0.500 points to 17.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 129 to 74 and 53 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.23% or 2.87 to $1265.53 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.14% or 0.07 to hit $49.64 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $52.16 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.03% to 7.5018, while USD/PHP fell 0.13% to 50.485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 93.36.
